new email monitoring service launched

We’re never satisfied with the service we offer here at Bookanengineer, we’re always looking for new ways to improve our offering, and to make our customer’s life easier. We are therefore proud to announce the introduction of a brand new email monitoring service.

Are you ever unsure as to whether your email system is working? You’re not alone, calling up friends and asking them to send you a mail is standard practice throughout business. Well we’re now the best friend you’ve ever had, we can send you email 24 hours a day, ensuring that if you’re unable to send or receive email, you’ll be the first to know about it.

It works using a standard bounce mechanism that can be configured with practically any email system. We configure an email account which sends a message back to us as soon as it arrives at your site. Using this bounced message, we can check that you are receiving emails, and sending them back. What’s more, we can analyse these bounced messages, looking at how long it takes from leaving our system, to the message being bounced back and processed on our servers. We can tell you how long it normally takes your messages to be bounced, the quickest bounce processed via your systems, as well as the slowest. We can tell you how long the average bounce takes from all of our customers. And all this is available to you on-line, via our web-site.

If your status reads on-line or off-line, you can click on the status to reveal in-depth statistics relating to your email performance.

We intend to extend this service over the coming months. This will include the ability to examine hour-by-hour performance over any given date, graphical analysis of individual bounce messages, helping to show you where your emails spend their time hanging around, and perhaps most importantly, the ability to be automatically informed when your email system is deemed to be off-line. This could be a fax, an email (to a private address), a text message or simply a phone call from ourselves.
